Tokyo Tours with Matt

I can maximize your Tokyo Good Times by getting you where you need to go without getting lost in Tokyo’s confusing streets, and out of control subway & train networks.

I offer unique tours in Tokyo — a city I have lived in since 2006. All tours are family friendly. If you have other locations in mind, I am flexible.

Tour 1 — Shinjuku Gyoen, National Garden

Shinjuku Gyoen was originally completed in 1906 as an imperial garden. It’s a wonderful, massive garden designed around the 4 Seasons of Nature, and I can take you to the best parts, depending on the season.

Tour 2 — Akasaka Palace, State Guest House

The Akasaka Palace is a fantastic example of neo-Baroque architecture built in 1909. It serves as a Guest House for Royalty and Heads of State worldwide, so it’s not always open to the public. The Palace has massive rooms filled with impressive designs and is a must-see experience.

Check out some of the interiors here.

Tour 3 — Yasukuni Shrine, Military History

For the military buffs out there, I offer a tour of Yasukuni Shrine. Shrouded in WWII controversy, there is much more than meets the eye, as the shrine commemorates military actions throughout Japan’s long history. There are also plenty of canons, artillery, and airplanes to look at. Go beyond the media reports, and dive deep into Japan’s most controversial, and sacred, shrine.

TOUR 4 — Recording Studio, Record Your Song (Contact for cost, it varies based on amount of people in studio, and length of studio booking)

I love playing music, and have some pro recording gear (mics and audio interface). If you wanna record a tune or two while in Tokyo, I can record you, and book the studio.
